The quality of these mods is all over the map, with some absolute garbage, but some are completely awesome. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition includes the entire Baldur's Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and some never before seen content as well. It also naturally fixes the bugs that the mods help fix, so it saves you the time and effort to need to do that.

The Enhanced Edition helps you skip the need to mod up the game to modern resolution. Powered by an updated and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldurs Gate II: Enhanced Edition includes the original Shadows of Amn adventure, the Throne of Baal expansion, and all-new content. It also halves all your experience since you have about double the content as well so you're not too quickly OP. That's the original release of Baldur's Gate II, which is available on GoG. Continue the journey that began in Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition, or create a completely new character in this isometric Dungeons & Dragons RPG. It more than doubles the length of the game and adds tons of characters as well. The original game is a classic - every serious RPG fan has either played it. It adds nearly every content mod publicly made along with tons of compatibility mods to the game, and pastes the games and the expansions together into a single game. Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition is pretty much just the original game running on a new engine with some minor extras.

If you've already played through the game before though, I'd say install the originals and go all the damn way and use the Big World Project mod. Baldurs Gate - Since its original release in 1998, Baldurs Gate has set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons computer roleplaying games. The quality of the added content is extremely low compared to the rest of the game, and stands out pretty badly. Beamdog's first game with an original storyline received a warm reception from critics. It is, in fact, an expansion to the enhanced edition of the latter. The game covers the events between the first Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II. The events occurring between Baldurs Gate and Baldurs Gate II are at last revealed in this 25-hour adventure. Just avoid the added quests and companions if you can. Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear launched in March 2016 for Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Android, and iOS. If you've never played it before, I'd say play the Enhanced Editions for your first time through, since it'll give you a core baseline of the game with some nice mechanical improvements to the engine.
